Love it Longer
Jewellery Care Guide
With a little care, your 925 sterling silver will stay bright and beautiful for years. Here's how to keep every piece looking its best.
Why Does Silver Tarnish?
Sterling silver naturally reacts with moisture and the air over time, which can cause a dull or darkened look called tarnish. This is completely normal — and the good news is that it's easy to prevent and even easier to fix. A few simple habits will keep your Silvadora pieces gleaming.
Caring for Your Silver
Clean Gently
Wipe your silver with a soft, lint-free cloth after each wear to remove oils and keep it shining. For a deeper clean, use warm water with a drop of mild soap, then dry completely.
Store Smart
Keep each piece in a soft pouch or a lined jewellery box, away from air and moisture. Storing pieces separately prevents scratches and slows tarnishing.
Polish to Restore
If your silver dulls over time, a dedicated silver polishing cloth brings back its mirror shine in seconds. Rub gently in straight strokes, not circles.
Wear it Often
Believe it or not, wearing your silver regularly helps! The natural oils in your skin keep it lustrous and slow down tarnish.
Do
- Wipe with a soft cloth after wearing
- Store in a dry pouch or box, separately
- Put jewellery on last — after make-up & perfume
- Remove before showering, swimming or sleeping
Don't
- Avoid contact with perfume, lotion & hairspray
- Keep away from chlorine, bleach & harsh chemicals
- Don’t wear in the pool, sea or shower
- Never use tissue or paper towels to polish (they scratch)
The 2-Minute Home Clean
Soak your piece in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap for a minute, gently rub with a soft cloth or baby toothbrush, rinse, and pat completely dry. Simple, safe and effective.
